Originally this painting (Study of a Young Woman, Oil on canvas; 44.5 x 40 cm, probably ca. 1665–67) was done by Johannes Vermeer (Dutch, 1632–1675). The copy was done utilizing some of the old techniques in oil painting. Applying thin layers on layers of paint makes the desired depth in the painting.
