Concept
Anyone can teach Industrial design with IDeLAB®, the math’s, english or science teacher. The workshop material is designed to last 2 hours or two months- as you wish. Education in industrial design emphasizes and incorporates strategic, user-centered and cultural perspectives. IDeLAB® aims to clarify and outline the basic elements involved in this process. Students have the opportunity to test their own design skills.

Participatory process
Our brief was to create an educational package about design for high school students. It became clear early on in the process that it was necessary to facilitate a dialogue with our target users. Contact was established with several schools in the area of Helsinki, Finland. A participatory process was conducted with the students and teachers to better understand the status quo, and to continuously test if our ideas worked as anticipated. Some of the elements that are used in this educational package were created together with the students. Ultimately we where able to keep up a dynamic process which resulted in the final outcome.
