Concept
This concept aims to simplify the interaction involved when consumers reach for beverages in a display cooler. The way the design improves the accessibility for the end customer buying the beverages increases the impulse shopping which the near-the-counter coolers are purposed for. For sales of beverages a door is an obstacle for sales, and the semi open solution in this design eliminates the need for actually opening a door. The bottom electrical compartment shelf and door mechanism in the design also aims to improve interaction for the maintenance service people who will fill and clean the display cooler.

Background
The project was initiated by Industrial and Strategic Design at UIAH (lead by Raimo Nikkanen, Head of department) in collaboration with Helkama Forste Oy, one of the main supplier to many European markets. The concept was bought by Helkama and kept in their right for one year.
