Concept:

This is a sculptural interpretation of the art period, Italian futurism (1909-1944). It is originally part of a textual assignment about this revolutionary art period that still has a huge impact on our society. The sculpture reflects the glorification of speed, war and technology, which is some of the main focuses of the “Manifesto of Futurism”. It is formed as an ink pen, with the style of futurism.
An important part of this project was to explore the style of futurism in different medias. I did some 2D and 3D sketches, and even some photos and paintings to explore and build up a foundation for the final result.
